The Titans tight end is here at the all-star game for the second year in a row after making his debut in Hawaii. Prior to that, he turned down a chance to go as an alternate.

There was a time in Walker’s career when he watched others receive honors, and he wondered if his time would ever come. He attended his first Pro Bowl in his 10th season.

The outspoken Hall of Famer, co-host of Fox Sports’ “Skip and Shannon: Undisputed,” had a lot to say when asked about Titans tight end Delanie Walker, and his status among the NFL’s best at his position.

“I pay a lot of attention to his game,’’ Sharpe said. “I think Delanie Walker is a phenomenal talent. He is a big kid that can run. And I am happy to see that he is getting an opportunity to show it because when I watched him in San Francisco, I always said, ‘Man, this guy can really play if he just got opportunities to show what he can do.’

“Well, he is in a system in Tennessee where they are going to give him opportunities. They know how to use him, and they’ve done a great job of getting him the football. I love what I am seeing with him. And is only going to get better throwing the football, so Delanie’s role will only increase.”

Sharpe caught 815 passes for 10,060 yards and 62 touchdowns during his playing days with the Broncos and Ravens from 1990-2003.

Oh man. I wasn’t the same Delanie Walker you see today. I was always an athletic, outgoing person, but I grew up in a different type of neighborhood. So when I went to school I was Delanie Walker jersey the athlete, but when I got to the neighborhood I was just Delanie, and a lot of people really didn’t know I played sports because I didn’t want them to try and take advantage of me with that situation. So I carried myself a little differently.

What the Titans tight end has discovered this offseason, however, is a way to get into better shape without putting extra wear and tear on his body.

“That’s exactly what I am thinking,’’ Walker said. “They invested in me once before, and now they have done it again, and I am not going to let them down. I am going to go out there and give it all I’ve got. I am a hard worker on the field and off the field. I do a lot in the community, so I am kind of grounded here in Nashville.

“I am just thankful for the opportunity they have given me, so I don’t want to let them down. So I feel like I am going to go out there and have a better year. Each year, I want to be better than the next.”

The Titans gave Walker a contract extension on Friday. In 2015, Walker led the Titans and all NFL tight ends in receptions. He had 94 catches for 1,088 receiving yards and six touchdowns last season.Men's Tennessee Titans Pro Line Black Gold Collection Pullover Hoodie

My first ever question to you was going to be in regards to Byron Bell, but it appears I’m too late. A couple years ago, he was one of our only bright spots on our offensive line. I’m sad to see that he has left the Titans, but glad that someone is giving him a chance after his injury. He seemed to fit the mold of what the Titans are becoming about. Same goes for who I think could have been very successful behind the offensive line we’ve built.

All running back Antonio Andrews has ever wanted was a chance, and he got one last season with the Titans.

Now, he’s getting another – Andrews on Thursday signed a one-year deal with the team.

Coach Mike Mularkey reiterated he thought the block by Titans running back Antonio Andrews on Browns safety Jordan Poyer in Sunday’s game was clean.

Poyer, who was on punt coverage against the Titans, was blasted by Andrews. The Titans were penalized 15 yards for a blindside hit, which resulted in Poyer being taken to the hospital. Poyer suffered a lacerated kidney and was placed on injured reserve.

“Of all my years being here, I am used to the (mindset) of whenever you get in, make a big play, make something happen,’’ Andrews said. “When I get the ball I want to make something happen with it.

“I just want to do what I can do to help the team. I just need to keep the underdog chip on my shoulder and handle my business and do what I need to do. When I am in there I try to be physical and to be a tone setter. Every game I try to get a big hit and be ready to roll.”
